Adult Classes

Classes for adults are held regularly, primarily on Sundays at 9:15am but also occasionally during the week. The following classes are available this fall:

In the Image of God: Being Human, Being Christian

To be human is to be made in God's image. At the same time, Jesus Christ is the perfect embodiment of humanity and the pattern for human life. This class will look at how thinkers and theologians from the 2nd century to now have tried to understand what that means, and how we can view life through a "Christ-centered lens." Led by Keith Kirchartz in the Sanctuary, 9:15-10:15am on Sundays starting September 9th.

James: Faith/Works

Perhaps more than any other book in the New Testament, James emphasizes the application of Christian belief. This 13-session study examines the core message of James. Each session will include a DVD-based teaching by Pastor Matt Chandler, followed by discussion and application. A workbook for personal study during the week is available for $10 and highly encouraged. Led by Pastor Garrett in the Heritage Room, 9:15-10:15am on Sundays starting September 9th.

Raising Christ-Centered Children

Join with other parents to glean biblical wisdom for the highly-challenging but highly-rewarding vocation of parenthood. Learn how to raise Christ-centered children by studying such topics as disciplining with love, parenting together as husband and wife, and modeling gospel-centered confidence. A printed workbook ($5) will be used to facilitate the lessons and discussion. Led by Linda Daly and Shannon Schubert in the Library, 9:15-10:15am on Sundays starting September 9th.
