Mission: To equip and encourage teens for lives of purity and purpose.
Youth Ministry is currently led by a team of dedicated members who love teens. (Yes, really.) They meet together weekly in the Youth Room, 9:15-10:15 a.m., for a lesson and discussion. Because many high school campuses are increasingly difficult places to live-out the Christian faith, lessons are focused on preparing teens for faithfulness to Christ and encouraging them to be willing to be different.
Each summer, Zion's youth (grades 7-12) embark on a weeklong trip of spiritual retreat and Christian service. It is often the highlight of the year for the youth, and it opens the door to deep reflection and tremendous growth. During the week away, there is time spent in Bible-reading and prayer, worship and recreation. A team of dedicated adults serve as youth leaders for the trip.
Past locations have included West Virginia, Georgia, and New Jersey. This year's mission was to Grand Rapids, Michigan from July 23 to 27. The group's time in Michigan was blessed by the Lord and filled with his presence. The anticipation for next year's trip has already begun.
