Small Groups and Studies

 

bIBLES & BREWS

Bibles and Brews is a men’s small-group ministry established in January 2015 with the purpose of studying the Bible, sharing prayer needs, fellowship, and enjoying adult beverages and other drinks.  The group meets every other week, on Thursday evening, at either Gil’s Cafe, 2700 Brownsville Road in South Park 15129, or weather permitting – outdoors in South Park on Wooded Gap Road at the US Flag Retirement Area in the county park (when the weather and daylight permit).  It is led by Kevin Barrett with support from Stephen Gilg and Jack Reck.  Previous topics include James, Luke, Acts, Genesis and Exodus which has led to the current topic, the book of Hebrews.  The group meets for about 1½ hours starting at 6:30.

 
 
FRIDAY MORNING MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

 Friday morning men’s Bible Study resumes March 24th and meets every Friday at 7:00 a.m. in Zion’s Library.  

                             

 

WOMEN’S DAYTIME MONTHLY BIBLE STUDY
Join our women’s daytime monthly study focusing on the Epistles in the New Testament.  We will meet every Second Thursday of the month from 10-11 am in person in the library.  Please register HERE or by calling the office.  Pick up the book from the office at no charge.  All women are welcome and encouraged to join!

 

 

FIRST THURSDAY MEN’S BIBLE STUDY – AT PANERA IN SOUTHLAND

We meet the first Thursday of each month to read, discuss and relate to our lives the messages of the Bible and Bible-based texts with emphasis on Jesus as our Savior. We study both the New and Old Testaments.  Please join us!

 

 
QUILTING MINISTRY – seeking newcomers now
The quilting ministry is a group that joyfully works to fulfill God’s command to help others in need. They meet every Thursday from 10-3. Each member comes as they are able. They laugh, tell stories, and care for one another as they work. Some cut the patch squares, or put together the layers of the quilt, or tie the quilts. Others sew the quilts and backpacks. Some who sew but can’t come on Thursdays make quilt tops at home from the squares provided. All are welcome to join in this rewarding ministry.
